Aidan Dodson is honorary full Professor of Egyptology in the Department of Anthropology & Archaeology at the University of Bristol, was Simpson Professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo for the Spring of 2013, and Chair of Trustees of the Egypt Exploration Society from 2011 to 2016. He holds a BA in the Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean from the University of Liverpool, and an MPhil in Museum Practice & Archaeology and a PhD in Egyptology from Christ's College, University of Cambridge; he was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London in 2003.

Following a consultation with its members, ESB events will now be largely via Zoom, except for one lecture in the summer and one in the early autumn that will be ‘in person’ at the University of Bristol.

Attendance for Members is free, and they will automatically receive links at least a week before each lecture takes place. All members of Bristol University may attend for free, and should request links for Zoom meeting by e-mailing info@EgyptSocietyBristol.org.uk.

All lectures begin at 18:45, except where otherwise noted.

Tickets for non-members (£4.00 per person) will be made available via Eventbrite on the same timescale.
